Latin name: pogostemon cablin
Oil extracted by steam distillation of young leaves which are first dried and fermented
Properties:
Viscosity is thick
Scent is sweet, musky, spicy and herbaceous
Colour is yellow to dark brown
Uses:
Good for skin care, with the ability to regenerate the skin
Grounding and balancing, fighting depression and anxiety
Has diuretic properties, fights water-retention, helps reduce excess weight
Breaks down cellulite, speeds up the healing process and prevents scarring
Used to counteract fungal and bacterial infection
Can be used as a deodoriser
Other applications:
Also works as an insect repellent, and eases insect bites
It can also help with stress related problems and addictions
Warnings:
It is non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitising, but has a very strong smell and can cause loss of appetite
