Latin name: lavandula angustifolia
Oil extracted from flower tops by steam distillation.
Properties:
Viscosity is watery
Scent is fresh

Uses:
Soothes nerves and relieves tension
Counteracts, fear, hysteria, nightmares, irritability
Aids restful sleep
Can relieve muscular pain, arthritis, rheumatism, lumbago
Useful against allergies and hay fever
Helps with skin problems and accelerates the healing process after wounds, bites, stings, etc.
Can even help with chilblains, dandruff and lice
Other applications:
Lavender can even be used neat, rubbed on the temple to ease headaches, as well as on burns or wounds to lessen scarring

There are no specific precautions in using Lavender other than to take care if you have extra sensitive skin
