Oil extracted by steam distillation from bark of tropical evergreen native to Sri Lanka
Properties:
Viscosity is medium
Scent is sweet, warm and spicy
Colour is brown
Uses:
Used as a warming remedy
Stimulates the digestion
Also stimulates the circulation
Can relieve muscular pain, arthritis, rheumatism, lumbago
Supports the immune system
Can offer relief from infections of the bladder
Other applications:
Traditionally it has been used for many digestive problems
Makes an excellent room fragrancer, especially mixed with orange and clove
Warnings:
It is a powerful skin irritant
Best administered by a qualified aromatherapist
Not for babies, infants or children under 12
