Small Bag of Pyrite Nuggets
Here's one for the young crystal collectors - a small canvas bag filled with nuggets of Pyrite, also known as Fool's Gold.
When prospectors were searching for the real thing, these shiny little nuggets would often appear amongst the silt and the mud, looking for all the world like real gold. Hence the name "Fool's Gold".
However, all may not be lost when searching for the real thing, as gold and pyrite often form together under similar conditions. Real gold has sometimes been found as inclusions within pyrite.
Incidentally, and not surprisingly, Pyrite is generally thought to be good for abundance, prosperity and good luck.
