Grapeseed Essential Carrier Oil
Latin name: vitis vinifera
Grapeseed oil has a fine texture that is light, almost odourless, and is easily absorbed by the skin. Due to the high linoleic acid value of grapeseed (greater than most other carrier oils), the oil is highly moisturising and leaves the skin feeling silky smooth without being too greasy. It may be used on its own or more usually enriched with other carrier and essential oils. However it is extracted using solvents, which may cause problems with sensitive skin.
Properties and uses:
It absorbs quickly into the skin, making it an excellent choice for skin preparations and for massage
It has mildly astringent qualities which help in tightening and toning the skin, making it useful for acne and other skin complaints.
It has natural non-allergenic properties so is suitable for many skin types
It is safe for people with nut allergies
